2 Chrissy Albums + A Winner

Hi everyone, I hope the lead up to Christmas is being good to you? Not too exhausted and broke from all the shopping I hope LOL?

I was lucky enough to be sent a Kaiser Christmas album kit to play with by Scrapbooking Memories and it was featured in this months mag, well after tomorrow it's offically last months mag LOL, they just seem to churn them out so quick.

Speaking of Christmas albums, I also managed to complete my first December Daily Album, inspired by the wonderful Ali Edwards, well the shell at least, hehe. It features a stack of delicious Twiddleybitz product and I must say, I can't wait to start the next one already, I just loved doing it sooooooo much.. When I hold it in my hands, I can feel real magic within in it's pages. You see, my DS was diagnosed with ASD at age 2 and now that he has turned 5, many of his story books are very worn and some have come apart. I didn't have the heart to throw them out as they had played such a key role in his recovery that I wanted to retain them in some special way. So each of the chipboard pages of the album are actually his books that we've spent endless hours reading and enjoying together as a family both thru the day and at betime. This album is even more special because this year will be the first year that my son will have a true understanding of the meaning of Christmas and that means more to me than any present ever could. I hold this book in my hands and imagine my son reading it in years to come and also being able to feeling the magic in it's pages. I hope you enjoy looking as much as I enjoyed creating it.

The Twiddleybitz chipboard I used for this project included;

Santa Key
Xmas Pack
Tweeny Bitz Chrissy Tree
Scroll Corners
Mini Mirror Acrylic Frame
Bird (from the Home Sweet Home pack)
Grunge Alphabet Letters
Aussie Xmas Tree
Angel Wings

OMG, literally as I'm typing this post, my album has made the No 1 spot in the Top 10 at 2Peas - wooooohooooo, I'm so excited I'm almost wetting my pants LOL!!!

That's about it for now except for to announce the lucky winner of my blog hop prize...............

I will send them anywhere in the world for the lucky winner (what the hell, it is Christmas after all LOL), so don't be shy now LOL. Here they are......

And here is a little Rusty Pickle project I whipped up today. I'm sure everyone likes to get the absolute most out of their supplies, so I have decided to show you what you can do with the chipboard sheets, once you have used all the chippie pieces. Throw em out???? NOOOOOOOOOOOO, here's what you can create instead....

I just adore this picture of my DS, the look on his face is priceless. It was taken when we attended our local Light Up Camden Christmas Festival. I just love the the look of joy on his face. Nothing beats being a kid at Christmas.

Here's a lil tutorial if you are interested in creating a similar project. Start by inking your chippie sheet. I used Tim Holz Distress Ink and set aside to dry.

Next choose some patterned paper and adhere to the back of your chippie sheet, using glue dots. I have used Rusty Pickle Island Summer paper.

Build your layout by adding your desired embellishments, photos and journaling.

I made a cool scalloped border using some patterened
paper and a coin for tracing.

I also punched some circles for added interest using some vintage book paper.

I completed my layout using a lovely vine made by the gorgeous Krissy (you can follow her link in my sidebar to visit her delightful flower shop).

So I hope  you enjoyed this lil project to help your dollar go further and to get the most out of your Rusty Pickle supplies :):):):)

And here are a set of Chrissy cards I made for Enchanted a couple weeks ago to help get you in the Chrissy spirit if you are not already LOL.

And last but not least a huge thankyou to YOU for playing along in our Rusty Pickle blog hop. I hope you had fun, possibly won some goodies and drew inspiration from our projects and posts. I would like to extend the warmest wishes of the season to you and yours and wishing you all a safe and happy holiday and even more amazing 2010. I hope it presents you all with many new and exciting adventures....... oh and I hope Santa spoils you rotten and don't forget that if you don't believe, you won't receive, hehehe, or should that be hohoho??? Over and out for now, lot's of love and laughter, Tiff :):):):):):):):):):)
