Love This Girl...

I was playing Dora's kitchen with Alana today and after we had made the strawberry pancakes and the butter chicken, my mind started straying to the unfinished layout on my scrap desk. I turned and said to Alana "ok, Mummy has to go and finish her layout now" and instead of the usual whinging and whining about not wanting me to go or rather chucking a tantie by throwing herself on the floor, she just looked up at me and in the softest, sweetest voice of an angel replied "OK Mummy, thanks for helping me." OMG, my heart melted and I pulled her into my arms hugging her and telling her special she was and how much I loved her. How lovely were those manners? It was just one of "those moments" that tugged at my heart strings and what's more, was so totally unexpected. It started me thinking that the layout could wait and that right there, right then, in that very moment, there was no-where else I would rather have been than with my girl, playing kitchens and experiencing her growing up into a fine young lady. I could feel a layout looming, but not until I had finished playing LOL.

My Lil Masterchef, hehe

Here's a layout I completed using Twiddleybitz ornate frame which I have painted in a colour I am in love with at the moment, turquoise. I considered not sharing as it is leaving me feeling a little vulnerable due to such sheer honesty, but I ended up thinking, what the heck, I always enjoy reading other people's heartfelt journaling and in fact they are the layouts I love the most.

If you are interested in heartfelt journaling, you should check out Stephanie Howell's blog, the link is in my sidebar, she is one of my fav's and I always check her blog for each update.

Here's another layout I completed for Twiddleybitz, using a Twiddleybitz ornate frame which has been painted, basic bracket which has been inked and mini square alphabet alphas also inked. I can't believe how young my husband and I look and that we have now been together for more than 10 years!

***I'LL BE BACK SOON - REMOVED FOR PUBLICATION***

This is a gorgeous pic that inspired me recently, so sorry but I can't remember for the life of me where I spied it. May have been the Studio Calico blog? I simply adore circles and espesh love the pastel lemon and grey hues in this, what an awesome colour combo!

And here's a dress I saw on Elsie's blog a while ago. I would get married in something like this if I were getting married now. I simply adore it.

And this is just pure inspiration for me as I love circles and the colours in this.

You should stop over to Twiddleybitz to check out this month's design team tutorial by the wonderful Jo Kinder where she runs you thru how to create this amazing floating frame. While you visiting, there is a monthly colour challenge for the chance to win 3 bottles of Crafty Notions colour spray where you can choose your own colours with free postage plus a small giveaway on Facebook. Websters March Challenge

I was given some yummy Websters Pages and so decided to put them to good use by doing my first challenge over at Inspire Me, which was to alter a tin or box and fill it with goodies for a friend.

I remembered just in time to get a pic of what it looked like underneath.

I have filled my box with 5 little containers each labelled using Websters Pages badges with vintage book paper underneath. The containers are filled with blooms, buttons, beads, bling and brads. It wasn't my intention to have all things beginning with "b" it just turned out that way :):):)

I have used Websters Mistletoe Kisses, Bloomin Beauty, Winter's Wings and Nature's Storybook papers.

When I initially saw the challenge, I wasn't going to do it, but was so glad I found the old Chrissy box and decided to give it a go. I love challenging myself.

That's all for now, will be back with some more layouts and news soon, wishing you all a wonderful week, Tiff :):):)

And here is my layout for the challenge. The patterened papers, tissue paper, paper flowers, silk flowers, crystals, pearls, wings and chippie alphas are all from Prima. I have also used corrugated cardboard Crafty Notions colour spray, journaling tag and leaves.

And I thought I had died and gone to heaven when I saw these brand new Websters releases.

If these do not inspire, surely nothing will hehe.

Till next time sweet bloggers, Tiff.

My Minds Eye Challenge #9: Blast from the Past

I have decided to do the sketch this month over at My Minds Eye - "Blast From The Past" where we could use any paper range old or new and base the sketch around a photo of something from the past. Here's the sketch;

In true fashion I have converted the sketch to a double layout LOL. I decided to use a photo of me and my mum from 1978 in addition to 3 photos of Alana and I from late last year in order to show the difference of 31 years. My journaling describes how since becoming the mummy of a little girl that I've realised there is no love more precious than that of a daughter. I loved using MME "Out And About" papers and embellies from my stash and also loved creating something that if not for the sketch would never have existed.

Here I used the Twiddleybitz retro flower corner that I have sprayed with Crafty Notions antique gold colour spray and adorned with rhinestones and Prima flowers.

And here are my latest Twiddleybitz creations, every layout I do lately, I find can coordinate some lovely Twiddleybitz pieces somewhere, they are just so versatile :):):) I am going for a bit of a vintage feel of late too, I just love using book paper from some of my childhood favourites (double copies of course LOL). Here I have used gorgeous Prima papers, flowers and crystals.

This is a close up of my favourite Prima flowers, Ballerina Blooms, they are just so, so pretty.

Here I have used a gorgeous Twiddleybitz chandelier and part of a whimsy bird frame under the title in addition to some Prima PP, wings and crystals.

Check out this delicious candy. For a chance to win, follow this link; http://creativityandlove.blogspot.com/2010/03/update-night-and-giveaway.html.

And here are some gorgeous photos of my girl innocently frolicking in the garden thismorning while mummy was as usual trying to capture that something special. Isn't she lovely? :D

This picture is "SO ALANA" this is the jovial face she pulls all the time and I just love that I've captured it on film. I have a layout whirling around in my head already LOL.

Until next time folks, happy creating and don't forget to enter my giveaway below if you haven't already :):):)
