I was playing Dora's kitchen with Alana today and after we had made the strawberry pancakes and the butter chicken, my mind started straying to the unfinished layout on my scrap desk. I turned and said to Alana "ok, Mummy has to go and finish her layout now" and instead of the usual whinging and whining about not wanting me to go or rather chucking a tantie by throwing herself on the floor, she just looked up at me and in the softest, sweetest voice of an angel replied "OK Mummy, thanks for helping me." OMG, my heart melted and I pulled her into my arms hugging her and telling her special she was and how much I loved her. How lovely were those manners? It was just one of "those moments" that tugged at my heart strings and what's more, was so totally unexpected. It started me thinking that the layout could wait and that right there, right then, in that very moment, there was no-where else I would rather have been than with my girl, playing kitchens and experiencing her growing up into a fine young lady. I could feel a layout looming, but not until I had finished playing LOL.
My Lil Masterchef, hehe
Here's a layout I completed using Twiddleybitz ornate frame which I have painted in a colour I am in love with at the moment, turquoise. I considered not sharing as it is leaving me feeling a little vulnerable due to such sheer honesty, but I ended up thinking, what the heck, I always enjoy reading other people's heartfelt journaling and in fact they are the layouts I love the most.
If you are interested in heartfelt journaling, you should check out Stephanie Howell's blog, the link is in my sidebar, she is one of my fav's and I always check her blog for each update.
Here's another layout I completed for Twiddleybitz, using a Twiddleybitz ornate frame which has been painted, basic bracket which has been inked and mini square alphabet alphas also inked. I can't believe how young my husband and I look and that we have now been together for more than 10 years!
***I'LL BE BACK SOON - REMOVED FOR PUBLICATION***

And here's a dress I saw on Elsie's blog a while ago. I would get married in something like this if I were getting married now. I simply adore it.
